Corymbia ficifolia
Corymbia ficifolia, also known as the Red-flowering gum, is a popular eucalyptus species that thrives in cultivation and can reach heights of 15 metres in certain temperate regions.
Originally classified as Eucalyptus ficifolia, it was transferred to the Corymbia genus in 1995.
While native to a small region on the far south coast of Western Australia, it is also well-suited for sub-tropical areas as long as they have well-drained soil and plenty of sunlight.
Its shiny foliage and rough bark make it a visually striking tree, and it is a moderately fast grower.
