Callistemon pinifolius
Common name: Pine-leaved bottlebrush - ( Some herbaria use the name Melaleuca linearis)
1.5m
Callistemon pinifolius, also known as the Pine-leaved Bottlebrush, is an elegant shrub that can grow up to a height and spread of 4 metres in the wild.
This exclusive species is found in two distinct regions - the Sydney area and the Central Western Slopes of New South Wales.
Its leaves are simple and spiral-shaped, measuring up to 10 cm in length and 0.2 cm in width, with a sharp point and a rich dark green color.
Known for its hardiness and resilience in our chilly climate, this species produces a profusion of flowers in both green and red hues.
For an exquisite display, consider planting a mix of both colors to create an informal hedge.
Optimum growth can be achieved by planting in full sun with well-drained sandy to clayey soil.
After flowering, a deep pruning and a dose of native fertilizer will promote vigorous regrowth and abundant blooms in the following season. Typically reaching a height of 1.5
