Eucalyptus rubida

Eucalyptus rubida, affectionately known as candlebark, is a majestic large-growing eucalyptus native to elevated regions across south-eastern Australia.

Reaching 20–30 metres or beyond, this striking tree features characteristically smooth, pale trunks—occasionally mottled—that create a luminous presence in the landscape.

Thriving in higher rainfall zones with quality soils, it establishes rapidly and develops substantial proportions.

While visually spectacular, its vigorous growth habit and considerable mature size necessitate careful placement away from buildings and infrastructure.

Found naturally across the Great Dividing Range foothills, Tasmania, and the Mount Lofty Ranges, this distinguished native represents an excellent choice for spacious gardens and woodland settings where its architectural form can be fully appreciated.
