Reaching 0.5-1.5m high and 1.5-4m wide, Rhagodia spinescens Tubestock is a hardy shrub with appealing silvery foliage and a dense habit.
Pruning yearly improves its growth; it can also be trimmed into a low hedge. Low maintenance and versatile, this plant is suited to landscaping work, and is reported to be fire-retardant.
It grows in full sun to partial shade, across a broad spectrum of soil types, and is salt, frost, and drought tolerant; furthermore, it makes a great habitat plant as its dense foliage and thorns provide shelter and food for small creatures and stock.
