Poa labillardieri

Poa labillardierei, also referred to as common tussock-grass, is a type of tussock grass native to Australia that can be found in the southern and eastern parts of the country, including Tasmania.

There are two variations of Poa labillardierei - var. acris Vickery and var. labillardierei.

This grass is usually found in open forest communities, grassy woodland communities, as well as moist areas on low slopes and valley floors that are often wet.

It is also able to thrive on river flats and open sheltered slopes, and can withstand frost. This versatile plant is a popular choice for home gardens and landscaping due to its resilience and striking appearance.

Additionally, Poa labillardierei can bounce back well after being burned, as long as the fire is not too intense for a prolonged period.
