This small shrub, Melaleuca thymfolia, also known as Thyme honey-myrtle, is a hardy, evergreen plant from the Myrtaceae family.

It thrives in a variety of soil types, including loamy, sandy loam, clay loam, potting mix, and even poor soil.

Its growth habit makes it suitable for a range of environments, from low maintenance gardens to drought-resistant landscapes.

With a flowering time of all year, this plant produces delicate white, purple, and mauve flowers that are attractive to bees, nectar-eating birds, butterflies, and other insects.

It also has special uses as a cut flower, honey-producing plant, and playground-friendly addition to any garden.

Suitable for both sunny and lightly shaded areas, it can tolerate light frost and has a height of 1.2 metres and a width of 2 metres.

Additionally, it thrives in a range of climates, from sub-tropical to cool arid.

The small leaf makes it useful as a low growing hedge. Great for shrubberies or as a pot.
