Eucalyptus tetraptera
Common name: Square Fruited Mallee
Shrub mallee to 2m high x 1.5m wide. An attractive ornamental mallee with a single low branching trunk and smooth grey bark and large thick glossy leaves. Feature of this mallee is the large shiny red flower buds on short twisted stems. Bud caps fall off to reveal short red flowers mostly in Winter. Prefers a poor sandy soil in an open sunny position, drought and frost resistant.
