Common name: 'narrow leaved gimlet'

Eucalyptus Stricklandii, commonly referred to as Strickland's gum, is a small tree species that is found exclusively in Western Australia, potentially also adapted to Victoria. Its bark is rough and flaky near the base, but smooth and reddish brown to grey above.

It has lance-shaped leaves, groups of seven flower buds, and yellow bell-shaped fruit. This fast-growing tree boasts vibrant yellow flowers in the summer, and a dense, shapely crown.

It can reach heights of 12 meters, but is typically seen between 6 and 10 meters.

Native to the Goldfields region of WA, it thrives in well-drained sandy or loamy soil, and is able to withstand salt-affected soil.

It prefers an open, sunny position, and is drought and frost resistant. This species flourishes in arid climates with annual rainfall of 180 to 250mm.
