Corymbia ficifolia
Common name: Red-flowering gum,
15 meters
Corymbia ficifolia, a beloved eucalyptus species, flourishes in cultivation and can grow up to 15 metres in select temperate regions.
Formerly known as Eucalyptus ficifolia, it was reassigned to the Corymbia genus in 1995.
This tree is originally endemic to a small area of the far south coast of Western Australia, but its stunning glossy leaves and rugged bark make it suitable for sub-tropical regions with well-drained soil and abundant sunlight.
It is a moderately fast-growing tree that makes a bold visual statement.
