Corymbia citriodora is a majestic evergreen tree beloved for its fragrant, citrus-scented leaves and towering stature.

Originating from Australia, this tree is treasured not only for its lemony aroma, but also for its ornamental and practical characteristics.

At its peak, it can reach heights of up to 50 meters and spans a width of 10-15 meters. The slender, lance-shaped golden-green leaves, measuring 7-17 cm long, emit a potent lemon scent when crushed.

During the spring and summer months, it adorns itself with clusters of white flowers.

With its tall, upright habit, delicate, draping foliage, and striking, smooth, almost dusty white to copper trunk, it adds a touch of elegance to any setting.

This tree is often utilized for its aromatic oils, as an ornamental or shade tree, and is gaining popularity in urban areas due to its adaptability and attractive appearance.

 

Corymbia citriodora thrives in diverse landscapes, growing in open forests and woodlands across multiple regions in Queensland and extending down to Coffs Harbour in New South Wales.

This species can be found as far north as Lakeland Downs and Cooktown, and as far inland as Hughenden and Chinchilla.

While an avenue of this species was planted in Kings Park, Perth many years ago.
