This elegant tree or shrub can reach up to 8 m in height and often has multiple stems.

Its branches stand tall and its foliage is a luxurious green or grey-green color.

The leaves are typically 2-4 mm long and feature a rounded dorsal surface.

Female cones can be found singularly or grouped together on strong, clustered fruiting branches.

They are ovoid to depressed-globose in shape, with a diameter of 20-25 mm, and can persist for many years while holding its seeds.

The cone scales are usually adorned with fine, regular warts and unite below to create a thick base.

After opening, the cone does not spread widely but instead has a thick columella, typically measuring 2-4 mm in height. Dark brown seeds with c. 4 mm wide wings are commonly found in this mallee pine.

Endemic to Mallee Woodlands and Shrublands in southern Australia, it can be found in New South Wales, Victoria, South
