Pinus halepensis 'Aleppo Pine' TUBESTOCK - Non Native
Pinus halepensis 'Aleppo Pine' TUBESTOCK is a non-native Mediterranean species suited to hot and dry conditions, but not tropical climates. Its large size makes it difficult to incorporate into suburban gardens, yet is a popular choice for public parks and Botanic gardens. Notably, this species has become a symbol of remembrance worldwide; seedlings from the Lone Pine in Gallipoli have been planted in War Memorials in Australia. It forms a rounded tree with light green needles, making it an excellent windbreak or shade tree. Unfortunately, its sale is prohibited in some areas, such as SA, due to strict plant regulations.
