Thryptomene saxicola is a resilient Australian shrub distinguished by its dense display of tiny pink flowers over an extended period and its compact, low-growing form.

Ideal as a background plant or a low hedge, it thrives best in well-drained soils.

This shrub can be maintained by occasional branch pruning to harvest cut flowers or a light trim after Winter.

Its foliage emits a distinctive spicy fragrance.

Also known as rock thryptomene, this species from the Myrtaceae family is native to southwestern Western Australia, featuring small oval leaves and pale pink flowers nestled in the leaf axils.

Thryptomene saxicola is a compact evergreen shrub reaching about 1.5 meters wide and tall, valued for its dense foliage and pink flowers that bloom through Winter and Spring.

It adapts well to various soil types, including loamy, sandy loam, clay loam, and potting mix, provided the soil is well-drained.

Suited to sub-tropical, warm temperate, cool temperate, and Mediterranean climates, this hardy plant tolerates light frost and thrives in sunny to lightly shaded locations.

Ideal for low-maintenance gardens, containers, courtyards, and coastal settings, it also attracts pollinators like bees, butterflies, and other insects.

Its uses include cut flowers and is compatible with pipe and drain systems as well as playground environments.
