Lavandula Avonveiw

'Avonview' Lavender is a compact evergreen shrub that reaches a height of 80 cm and spans 60 cm wide.

This specific variety has grey-green leaves and emits a strong aroma from both its leaves and flowers.

Its vibrant violet-blue flowers stand out above the foliage on long stalks, providing a long blooming period. This hybrid plant, a cross between Lavandula stoechas and the rare Lavandula viridis, is originally from Morocco's mountainous regions.

Its parent, L. viridis, has bright green leaves and yellow flowers resembling pineapples, while L. stoechas, also known as Spanish or French Lavender, is common in dry hilly areas and woodlands in granite and limestone soils in southwestern Europe.

'Avonview' thrives in humid or sub-humid temperate regions, similar to its native Mediterranean habitat.
