Eucalyptus sargentii
Common name: Salt river gum
Eucalyptus sargentii, known as the Salt River gum, is a mallet, mallee, or small tree native to Western Australia.
It features rugged bark on parts or all of the trunk, and smooth bark above, with linear to narrow lance-shaped leaves.
Its flower buds grow in groups of seven, and it produces whitish to creamy yellow flowers and conical fruit.
This exclusive tree or mallee can reach heights of 3-12 m and blooms from August to December or January.
It thrives in low-lying, poorly drained areas near salt lakes and creeks. Its presence is scattered throughout the Avon Wheatbelt biogeographic region, from Pithara to Lake Grace.
