Eucalyptus Polyanthemos
TUBESTOCK
Eucalyptus Polyanthemos, also known as red box, is a species of tree found primarily in eastern Australia, but has also been introduced to other countries.
It features fibrous bark on the trunk and larger branches, as well as smooth greyish to cream-colored bark on the upper portions.
This native Australian tree grows naturally in the central tablelands region of New South Wales and Victoria, extending to Ararat.
It is a resilient tree that can withstand harsh, rocky soil conditions.
The juvenile leaves are oval-shaped and grey-green, while the mature leaves are more ovate in shape. The tree can have a smooth or fissured trunk, resembling a box.
Its small white flowers bloom from September to January.
