Indigenous Eucalyptus Microcarpa
Our indigenous range is sourced from local seed collectors that have lived in area their whole life.
They are passionate about rejuvenation, sustainably and gathering seed from trees and shrubs naturally grown in the area.
Our indigenous range is within a 100km radius from Dimboola town center.
We are very proud and passionate to be able to share this range with everyone!
- Buds typically form on new growth during summer and begin to flower around two months later.
- While the majority of grey box trees have a single trunk, some have multiple stems due to increased epicormic growth in the juvenile stage caused by grazing disturbance.
- While the ideal soil for optimal growth is clay-loam , E. microcarpa is able to tolerate moderately alkaline soil.
- It can withstand poor drainage and has a high tolerance for frost and wind, but will not thrive in deep sand.
- In windbreaks, the spreading crown of E. microcarpa is useful for providing medium-level coverage and shade.
- With regular budding, this tree also serves as a good source of nectar for bees, which gather moderate amounts of cream-colored pollen.
- The timber of E. microcarpa is known for its pale color, durability, toughness, and strength, with a density of 1100 kg/m
