While most elephant ears can thrive in full sun, they prefer some shade for optimal growth. In hot climates, it is best to plant them in an area with afternoon shade.

To thrive, these plants require lots of moisture, so it is important to plant them in a moist area or even in standing water during the growing season.

If growing in containers or drier soils, frequent watering is necessary. This tropical plant prefers warm temperatures and high humidity.

It is best to avoid temperatures below 10 Celsius. Elephant Ear thrives in moist, fertile, and loamy soil with plenty of organic material. As a heavy feeder, it is recommended to fertilize at least once a month during the growing season.
