Indigenous Allocasuarina Muellarina is a medium shrub that grows in scrub and heath, typically on rocky siliceous soils.
It is common from Bendigo to the Grampians in the southwestern regions of Australia.
This species has a moderate growth rate and can live for a long time.
The young shoots and soft, young cones of this species were traditionally used as bush tucker, and the trees were also utilized to make implements.
In addition, the hollows in the trees were often used as a water reservoir after summer showers.
