Melaleuca squamea
Known as swamp honey myrtle, this native shrub reaches approximately 2 metres and thrives in waterlogged conditions throughout South Eastern Australia and Tasmania.
While understated in appearance during dormant seasons, it transforms spectacularly each spring with striking globular blooms in shades of purple and pink.
Increasingly favoured in contemporary landscaping for its exceptional water tolerance and ornamental spring display.
