Indigenous Allocasuarina verticillata
Drooping Sheoak
A medium sized bushy tree 9m high x 5m wide, that has a rounded head. It has weeping dark green branchlets that produce brown male flowers from winter to early spring. These trees when young can look rather sparse and scraggly but this changes with age. They sound like the ocean when the wind blows through their leaves.
Excellent windbreak in coastal areas. Great for shade and shelter. Good specimen tree or street tree. Can grow in even the most difficult soils.
Tolerates most soils and aspects including coastal. Prefers full sun position and is extremelty heat tolerant. Minimal maintainence is required once established.
Please note: No live plants can be sent to Tasmania, N.T, W.A or overseas
